What Russian doesn’t like fast rides? These guys got used to high speeds at a very early age. Artyom, for example, is 5 years old. He started riding a go-kart not too long ago.

Some of these boys go to the race track for the thrill of the game, the risk, and their dreams. Others go because their parents want them, too. Volodya from Perm is 6 years old. He just had his second competition. His dad is 36 and he’s been racing since he was 3.

Maksim is 7. He’s been riding since he was 4. When you look at their young faces, you wonder: what does racing mean for them? What does victory mean for them? What happens after winning?

Sasha is 8. This is his first year racing. The most dangerous age range for youth go carting is from 8 to 14 years. 75% of all accidents happen at these ages.

Zhenya, from Tolyatti, is 9. His equipment includes shoes, a racing suit, a helmet and gloves. All of that gets destroyed in accidents and crashes.

Vsevolod and Danil are 9 and 10 respectively. Not everybody has the opportunity to be part of the racing world. The monthly cost for systematic karting classes with an instructor cost about 200,000 rubles (4,000 US Dollars).

Mukharbek, 17, has been racing since he was 7. In addition, every ride requires a massive expenditure of materials, from fluids to tires and parts.

Damir, 19, has been racing since he was 7. Successful racers can receive support from sponsors. Well-known automobile and motor oil brands step up to be team sponsors.

Niyaz, 20, has been racing for 4 years. Race karts cost a pretty penny. It’s packed with computer technology and its engine can reach speeds of up to 60 miles an hour in 2.5 seconds.

Zhenya, from Chelyabinsk, 21, has been racing since he was 7. Building and maintaining a race track also requires large amounts of money. Everything has to be paid for, but these drivers would do anything to get on the path to their big goal in life.
