The participants of the international rally “Beijing-Paris 2013” will cover about 13 000 kilometres, which they are almost halfway through. A 46-year-old mother of two has died after an accident on the Beijing to Paris rally. Emma Wilkinson was competing with partner Peter Davies in a 1970 Chevrolet C10 when the tragedy happened on the Tyumen to Omsk highway.

By the way, eventually a Formula-1 pilot, Juan Manuel won the race five times - a record beaten only by Michael Schumacher.

The rally “Beijing - Paris 2013” is a 33-day drive covering 12 247 kilometres. The race took off on 28 May to finish on 29 June.

The foreigners can’t help admiring the skills and ability of the Russian engineers to repair any car. For instance, a Mercedes team has recently noted that even computerised diagnostics didn’t help to repair their car in Germany. In Russian the faults were identified without any high technology and fixed.
