At the XXVII Summer Universiade, held on 6-17 July, 2013, Russia won more than 200 medals, including 132 gold. Such performance smashes the previous record and will not be beaten for a long time.

Russian gymnast Aliya Mustafina won gold in the Kazan Universiade in the uneven bars. It was Mustafina's third gold in the Universiade. Her two previous triumphs came in the team and all-round events. 18-year-old Aliya was the Olympic champion in the uneven bars in London.
